Alex and Ani’s founder, Creative Director and CEO Carolyn Rafaelian embraced the sustainable life through the creation of their jewellery. She and Alex and Ani are dedicated to the wellbeing of the environment and the local/national economy by incorporating consciousness in the effort of the company.

The products such as bangles, necklaces, rings, etc. are all designed and manufactured in America encouraging fair trade through the local economy (employees are very much valued for their work effort). The materials utilized are sustainable and very much eco-conscious (i.e. the use of recycled material). 

Alex and Ani does also charity work to give back through Charity by Design to improve the quality of other lives around the world.

All of this creates a balance between the world of fashion and the world of awareness.
