Alex and Ani tells us a story through its jewellery. It tells us that building a lifestyle should start with you!

Alex and Ani’s founder, Creative Director and CEO Carolyn Rafaelian embraced the sustainable life through the creation of their jewellery. She and Alex and Ani are dedicated to the wellbeing of the environment and the local/national economy by incorporating consciousness in the effort of the company.

The products such as bangles, necklaces, rings, etc. are all designed and manufactured in America encouraging fair trade through the local economy (employees are very much valued for their work effort). The materials utilized are sustainable and eco-conscious (i.e. the use of recycled material).

When I was in San Francisco, I walked into a store at Pier 39 where they were selling Alex and Ani jewellery.

I immediately bought the Begonia Braided Leather Wrap, which represents Memory, Chance, Eternity and the September Birthstone Charm Bangle. Since I am born in September, the Sapphire is my birthstone and represents Clarity, Wisdom and Tranquility (according to Alex and Ani).

I absolutely love their jewellery and when I get the chance I will buy some more a 100%.

Alex and Ani does also charity work to give back through Charity by Design to improve the quality of other lives around the world.

All of this creates a balance between the world of fashion and the world of awareness.
